VWs and Cornwall

So down here in Cornwall for couple of days what is it with VW vans they are everywhere! Are VW just importing them into the South West these days ? Ok I get it if you are early 20s fancy yourself as a surfer, got a girl who you think is fit in a bikini, with her tribal tats on view, and you got two weeks off to go "stealth camping" but the majority are not.
No the majority are late 50s/60s beer gut types with a Mrs who's best bikini days are well past her, and if they went near the sea Japanese whaling fleets would be off Newquay in a matter of days, most vans have the Hawaiian liia hanging from the rearview mirror and flowers along the dashboard it's just such a cliche! Get yourself a proper camper and stop trying to relive a yoof you never did in the first place, you just look silly .
And don't start me on cars with tent boxes on them !!!!!!

VW campervans are nostalgic for older people who remember the hippie lifestyle, that's why a lot of older people have them it's just sheer nostalgia.
