Whose better? Barca, Madrid, Munich and arguably chelsea and United.

Erm Dortmund and Ajax? We'd also have our work cut out against Shalke and Shakhtar imo.

Like many of our fans you're over estimating our current team and under estimating everyone else. We are novices in europe and it shows.

You think Ajax have a better team than us? We've made both teams look better than they actually with two disgraceful performances but in terms of playing staff we have a much much better squad than both.

I've never seen anything like it at this level. Never seen a world class left back not know what his role is when a frantic change to the system we've done nothing but fail at (3-5-2). Never seen a manager in two consecutive games switch the formation to the system that everyone knows unsettles his squad. You could see Ajax push forward and pressurize our defense after Mancini made the call for 3 at the back. Can anyone tell me you honestly weren't shouting at him when he made that call? Then he goes and immediately changes it back to 4-4-2. He's lost the fucking plot.

I just woke up after having this horrible dream that we were playing at the Bernabeu, in the second half, and Mancini did exactly what you just described...oh, wait, that wasn't a dream !! Then, we were ran off the pitch by BVB, he said he knew exactly what the problem was, and he executed the same maneuver again yesterday in Amsterdam.

No wonder our defenders are confused, running around like headless chickens. I'm also sure it helps to have a new defensive coach who's a mate of the manager, and reportedly speaks very little English. Chairman Khaldoon and Mr. Soriano need to sort out this mess.

Couldn't have said that better myself... I thought exactly the same.

However I'm not too fancy pointing fingers at the staff. For me it seemed that the players lacked enthusiasm and commitment, and although I wont be giving shit to every single player, I have to point out Yaya's performance last night... What a disgrace. I don't have to say more than that.... A disgrace...

WAKE UP AND SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE PLEASE.

Sir Alex took 2/3 years to get past the groups with United, and as much as I fucking hate the guy he has led them to success, and that isn't by sacking him after barely giving him a chance.

Wenger has been manager for 13 years and he still hasn't won it and doesn't look like he's going to anytime soon.

For 2 years in a row we have been given bloody hard groups, we could have ended up with Lille, Porto, Clujj and IMO safely through, but through no fault of our own we have ended up with 4 bloody league winners in our group. You need luck as well to win the competition, look at Chelsea for example.

Mancini has guided us to our first Premier League trophy in 44 years, and undoubtedly the main aim for this season is to retain our title.

Chopping and changing managers won't get us very far as there will be no stability, players will come and go and we will never win the CL.

We have seen much darker days so cheer up. Without the bitter the sweet isn't as sweet.

I still support mancini, let me start with that.

But he got his tactics all wrong (again) last night. I know some of you saying its down to the group and we could easily get out against fc cluj, olympiakos etc BUT that is not going to happen until we improve our coefficient. Until we make it out of the group stage we will continue to be drawn against the top teams. Next year it could be worse.

We should not be losing to Ajax, sorry but they are not in our league.

Even if we were in Pot 1 we could have still ended up with Shalke/Shaktar, PSG, Dortmund.
And even in Pot 2 we could have got: Porto, Lille and Clujj...

I'm not dismissing our bad performances, but calling for Mancini's head is ridiculous, and luck does play a part, and so far we haven't got any...

Where did I call for mancinis head?! I started the post with "I still support Mancini". I think he needs to be given time & he will deliver, but it might take us a few more goes before we have the right mentality to challenge for the champions league

We lost badly to an Ajax side that played only 4 of their 11 from last year, most of the newcomers being academy "grads". Mancini humiliated himself with shitty management mid-game (directly leading to a goal) and didn't adjust his tactics to stop the first goal (Even Martin Tyler was discussing the weakness on the right wing 5 minutes before it went in). Then he put all four strikers on, thus having absolutely no midfield system and expected something from it???

This season, we've gotten one point (theft if we're all honest), and Mancini has made glaring tactical mistakes in each game. What other club in recent Champions League memory can look at three poor results and point directly to the manager as the cause? When have any of you seen a manager change formations no less than 3 times and confuse the hell out of his players?

Worse yet, not only does not playing knockout matches hurt our revenue and compliance with FFP, but what world class players are going to want to join a club with a manager that appears to be inept in Europe??? Its going to cost us that much more to sign the players to continue improving this squad when they can point to the risk of poor Champions League runs.

We can discuss how we should have gone through last season, but we got 6 of our 10 points from a team that ended up getting relegated from La Liga and lost every group game (came closest to drawing with us though), 3 of the 10 were from a reserves Bayern Munich squad at home, and one was from Napoli at home.

Sorry to say, guys and gals, but us being happy with the league and the occasional domestic cup is not what Mansour invested nearly a billion pounds for. Financial Fair Play is going to screw the entire club if we aren't pulling in extra revenue from the last 16. Five years ago I'd have told you I'd be happy being mid-table in early May, now I know that for this investment strategy to work, even Premier league titles aren't going to be enough.

We have a squad littered with Champions League winners, Euro winners, World Cup winners. They all know what it takes to win at the likes of Ajax and to hold a lead for 5 mins at Madrid.

We have a manager that has done nothing in CL. He said last night that going 3 at the back didn't matter. Yes it did. I for one was astounded at the move.

He says he didn't prepare the team properly. This might be a ruse as he has used it before but there are only so many times that the owner will accept it.

Make no mistake, he wants CL success or at he very least decent progression as part of the FFP plan.

Ajax had an easy night due to our mistakes, mainly standing too deep off them and not taking our chances.

Get back to last seasons formation and tac-tics and lets kick on to win the Prem!
