Wales v Denmark

Saturday 26th June 2021

Kicks off at 17:00 (BST) at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Capacity at 33%, approximately 16,000. Could potentially be increased.

Coverage begins at 16:00 (BST) on BBC 1, presented by Gabby Logan, commentary from Steve Wilson and Robbie Savage. No information on the pundits.

Referee: Daniel Sibert (GER)

WALES

Anything from here on out is surely a bonus for Wales? They've performed above expectations once again, not many would have had them finishing 2nd. Ethan Ampadu is suspended for this one, after his red card for a tackle that was never a red card in my opinion, there have been 2 or 3 tackles like it since that have got a yellow max. Don’t think the Netherlands government are letting Welsh fans into the country, so it should be mainly a Danish crowd.

Form at Euro 2020:
Wales 1-1 Switzerland
Turkey 0-2 Wales
Italy 1-0 Wales

Euro 2020 goal scorers:
Kieffer Moore – 1
Aaron Ramsey – 1
Connor Roberts – 1

DENMARK
Somehow managed to finish 2nd in their group after a thumping win over Russia and being helped out by Belgium beating Finland. If that awful incident hadn’t happened in the first game they would have easily qualified in this group. Should have plenty of fans in the stadium due to not many Welsh fans being allowed. How far will playing on emotion get them? They could make the semi-finals if things go their way.

Form at Euro 2020:
Denmark 0-1 Finland
Denmark 1-2 Belgium
Russia 1-4 Denmark

Euro 2020 goal scorers:
Yussuf Poulsen – 2
Mikkel Damgaard – 1
Andreas Christensen – 1
Joakim Maehle – 1

My feeling is that Denmark will beat us, obviously i hope i'm wrong.
Losing to a side which contains a **** like Kasper Schmeichel will annoy the hell out of me

Wales don't seem to be better than the team of 5 years ago. Always felt Bale and Ramsey have dined out on past reputation but no denying they're decent technical players.

What Wales have got in spades is a sense of team spirit, togetherness and unity so they actually play like a team. Think they've had a bit of luck but they're more than capable of beating Denmark.

Ol Kasper is a decent keeper but not great. The Danes have been galvanised by what happened to Eriksen which could give extra impetus.

For what it's worth I hope the sheep botherers get through. Depends on whether they have the firepower upfront.

I don’t see why they refer to their national side as Wales when really it should be GARETH BALE…(oh, and some other blokes as well).

There are ten other players out on the pitch representing Wales, not just Bale. He is the captain of the team, but he is not the sole representative of the team. I hope to fuck the BBC and ITV remember they are doing a disservice to the others who sweat blood and guts for their country.

All teams (club or country) have a captain/leader/figure head/best player that the media get obsessed about e.g. Kane for England.
It is a lazy and easy option that the media follow as they cannot be arsed researching about Chris Mepham, the Welsh centre-half.
But, Gareth Bale is probably the most successful British (let alone Welsh) player of the last decade.
As captain, he seems happy to do the interviews and takes responsibility for most on the field decisions (after missing the penalty v Turkey he set up the 2nd goal, instead of keeping the ball in the corner).
Unfortunately, there are always unsung heroes e.g. Gareth Barry. The current Welsh side are a team though, who fortunately do not seem to be bothered with the media's obsession with Bale.
Wales to win 2-1 today...

Come on you sheep shagging bastards.

Do it in spite of the **** with the dildo on his head getting all the plaudits.

I cant see Bales beating Denmark today, think Denmark have a team spirit borne out of the Erickson almost tragedy , its gonna take more than Monkey boy and his double man buns, and that other bloke eeerr Ramsey to win this .
