You've probably seen the Barclays ad. That was previously my sum knowledge of Walking Football until a website recently asked me to take part in a game for a feature - https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/fr...-of-walking-football-in-the-uk-143819059.html

Played a couple more times since and absolutely love it! If you're of an age where 5-a-side is too demanding these days - or, like me, health or injury permits regular footy - then I'd really recommend checking out the website http://www.walkingfootballunited.co.uk/ to find a venue close to you and giving it a go.

For some reason its more popular in the Manchester area than anywhere else in the UK.

Has anyone already tried it?

How much physical contact is there?
I'd love to get involved but a new hip and another needed on the other side make me very wary of getting whacked around the hips.

Very little contact and certainly no crunching tackles. Thats the main appeal. All about passing in possession and anticipation when not.
