Hi all. Can't wait for weekend. Going to take the family for a walk one of the days. Any tips? Not too far to drive -kids get car sick!

Dovestone Reservoir Greenfield.

You can stay on the flat round the reservoirs or walk up to Chew reservoir and around the ridge if the kids are older (11+)

The path round the reservoirs is flat and if they are young enough that you can keep up walking they can ride their bikes round it if that suits.

Hollingworth Lake. Straight up the M62. Walk once round 2.14miles. And it's flat! But when yer get there point out Blackstone Edge and tell 'em yer going up there!

Been there done that and you're spot on it's a lovely walk.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Last month in the pub we were talking about odd places we had had sex and this was a place i couldnt remember the name of! Its been doing my head in for weeks!

The best tip I can give is to get them to put one foot in front of the other and keep repeating that. Hope it helps.

The reservoir and the walk around it. There's a short one and a longer one. In this weather today it will be lovely. Was sunny when we went, but cooler as it was only late Feb. Nice to get out and about.

Yes, it's less full of bird shite and people leaving rubbish all over the place but has less facilities (Bogs, an ice cream wagon & a mobile catering van). It's best to bring your own food or go to a pub with a beer garden afterwards.
