When I was young A lovely old friend of my dads used to tell me about when he went to Hyde road and it got me wondering if anyone had been to our 3 home grounds. They would have had to be very young to visit Hyde road and rather old to visit the Etihad but it could have been possible.

Well I went to my first City match in 1963 some 40 years after Hyde Road Stadium was abandoned. A further 60 years have passed since then.

From the move from Hyde Road to the opening of Eastfields was just over 80 years. It is likely that some supporters will have survived long enough to have visited all three grounds.

We had a thread on here once asking which historic trophies posters has seen and I’m sure we had a poster who remembered the 1937 league championship. I know that’s later than Hyde Road. There surely would have been people when we moved from Maine Road who were perhaps 85+ who went to all three. Can’t have been many though.

What we talking, about 80 years between games? So probably someone born in about 1917, who just started going before Hyde Road shut and would have been about 86 when the new ground opened.

Probably more likely than not there were one or two I suppose. I’d like a few tips on longevity if they’re still going now mind.

The other thing to ask is did they also go and see our home game played at Barnsley ;)
