Watford (A) - Post-Match Thread

We played some brilliant stuff, but still annoyed at the chances we keep missing. Grealish played the central role really well apart from not putting his chances away. We aren't half a good side though!

I get told about Summerbee, Bell, Lee. Denis Law's goal against United! By my Dad.

I had to suffer Nicky Summerbee, Alan Kernaghan and David Brightwell with the highlights being the Kinky, the Goat, (always had a soft spot for Andy Morrison). I could probably name a bazillion next big things that played for us that maybe reached 5 starts and 10 sub appearances before they disappeared again!

Of course George Weah played for us for a moment in time :D Does anyone remember Kakhaber Tskhadadze (I did have to google spelling).

I don't have children but it will be impossible to explain the pain of driving up with your Dad from Cornwall to use your Season ticket game after game, year after year to maybe win a game a couple of times a season!
Well think about how it was for those of us who grew up with Bell/Lee/Summerbee to seeing it all turn to shit. That’s nearly worse than being born into the shit period. Bear that in mind when thinking of what your dad has endured.
Rejoice that you both have seen the resurrection and the best football any of us have ever witnessed.

Apologies if already mentioned. The BBC fan based ratings very strange. 10 of our starting line up scored 7+ or 8+. Raz scored 5+. Strange manipulation going on.

Rubbish!! 3-1 at Watford is crap. Even the rags managed 4-1 at Vicarage Road a few weeks ago.
Pep is game managing the early part of the season and has done a fabulous job of it, considering injuries, players out of form, players that are jaded.
We’re top of the league whilst playing in second gear.
It’s not to be sniffed at.

Great performance, top of the league!

But.. yet again I have to pick out the referee. Two absolutely ATROCIOUS decisions for clear red cards not given. Do players have to lose a leg for refs to act. It is ridiculous and disgusting that referees are not making correct decisions. I am sick of the standards of officiating.
But, but, but.... the commentator (Bill Leslie) did say that whilst the "challenge" from Cathcart could have seriously injured Jesus, he didn't mean to hurt him!!
One of the most moronic comments I've heard in a long time.
Pillock.

I’ll pick out the negatives.

Laporte is nothing on Stones, weak link.

Sterling so so frustrating, very greedy tonight and yes he scored but my dead granny could have bagged that. But gets into so many dangerous positions, drives me batty.
I agree. Sterling's decision making is letting him down. He has to realise that making a goal is as good as scoring one. However he is playing better.
