From reports I was reading I thought Guardiola watched every opponent and then drew up a game plan to beat them. I was looking forward to that, rather than the Pellegrini method of just attack and fuck the defence. However, I'm not so sure I've seen us adapt, or give our defence more protection.
Think most teams change.the way.they usually set up n play against us if pep is watching games of these teams there's no way they play the same when they come to us it's all sit behind the ball n play counter attack .

Getting worried

Feel sorry for Stones, obviously made a big mistake but he's not gonna stand a chance of impressing until he's got three reliable defenders beside him. As it is he has Zab who's legs have gone, Sagna who's past it and Kolorov who can't defend.

3 at the back:

-----------------Bravo
-----Sagna----Stones----Otamendi
Maffeo----------------------------Sane
------------Fern------Gund
Sterling---------KDB------------Nolito

4 at the back:

--------------------Bravo
Maffeo---Otamendi---Stones---Clichy
---------------------Fern
--------------Silva--------KDB
Sterling----------------------------Nolito
--------------------Kelechi

I hope we go with 4.

Not sure why Stones keeps getting a pass - well, obviously, it's because he's young and the assumption is that he'll get better - but if you just judge each player in each game, he should be getting as much stick as the others. You could equally say "he's not gonna stand a chance of impressing until he's got three reliable defenders beside him" about any of our defenders at the moment.

I hope so because so far he reminds me of a hybrid version of Nastatic and Mangala. Because we paid a kings ransom for players says more about our (in) ability in the transfer market than the poor sod we saddled with a huge price tag.

Pretty obvious its a must win game as anything less and its season over for us as far as title aspirations are concerned if not over already.

While Spurs and Manure are average sides this year so are we and to finish fourth which is the best we can hope for will be even harder than last year.

Need a change in the way we set and play otherwise no Chumps League for us next year.

It seems like Chelsea and Arsenal would fight it out for the title. That leaves us, Liverpool, Spurs and the Rags. Watching our recent matches, it seems like Spurs can overtake us if we keep on screwing around. Tbh though, Liverpool are dropping a lot of points and I dont think they can sustain their form for long. But worrying times, thats for sure. This makes the Watford game a must win.

Can't even talk about the Leicester game it was that embarrassing, would rather discuss what we need to change.

Easy for me, i'd make 7 changes from that game and i'd run with it till Fern and then Aguero is back.

4-2-3-1
Gunn/Caballero
Sagna
Adarabioyo
Otamendi
Angelino/Maffeo
Gundogan
Yaya (Fern when back)
Sterling
De Bruyne
Silva
Nolito

Bravo and Stones deserve dropping and I'd rather play the kids and see them make mistakes than watch the same culprits make mistake after mistake week in week out.

Either way theres one thing we'll all agree on; there's no way he can put out the same defence again.,

The issue was the positioning, Kolorov left stones too exposed by playing too high up the pitch. That lineup you suggest screams 'knee jerk reaction'

There's no doubt Watford will play the same straight long balls through the center of our defence. What are we going to do to to stop this? It worries me that we probably won't do anything.

Just my opinion but young Tosin is nowhere near ready. Big Deany would bully the life out of him.

I think we should park the bus for 10mins, get Watford in to a false sense of security and then hit them on the break.

Looking at our squad and the players we bought I thought we would always be playing fast attacking football utilising the wings with players like sane, Sterling and nolito. I didn't think we would be getting our width from KDB at left wing back.

Remember the first 6 or so games, 4 at the back, soon as we pressed the full back drifted in to centre midfield, Fernandinho drifted into the centre half role and the wingers got a shit load of 1v1 opportunities with their full back because nobody had a fucking clue what to do with out full backs. Anybody find me one genuine reason why this was stopped? It was genius and I was amazed we had a manager who had thought of something so simple yet so effective.

I think Maffeo has shown enough in the games he has gotten to prove that he is at least as good and option as Zabs or Sagna at this moment in time so he should really be starting this game. It would send a signal to other underperforming players as well that they need to buck up or lose their spots

Title probably gone already. Top 4 will depend on how many points we can get over the next few weeks.Manure are looking a lot better but Spuds and the Dippers like us seem average
I expect at some stage this season we will go on another run, which if it happens will probably be too late to win anything, but it should secure top 4 and set us up for a better time next year.

It was stopped because Gundogan got fit and Pep feels he HAS to play with all 4 midfielders (Kev, Fern, Dave & Gundogan), so he changed the system to a back 3. Gundogan getting fit changed everything.
