I ain't a fan of Hughes, I don't think he is the right man for the job, however I think he deserves a bit of praise here. In my opinion Gael Clichy, Patrice Evra and Ashley Cole are the only left backs in the premiership who I consider superior in ability to Bridge. Granted, he has not played a lot of football lately having played second fiddle to Ashley Cole (rightfully so!), I still believe that given a run of games to gain match fitness then he'll be absolutely brilliant for us.

I think that he benefits from the fact that we have been subjected to the inept defensive abilities of Michael Ball and premiership inexperience of Garrido, whose performances prior to his injury were brilliant despite criticism of him (no surprise!) continuing. I think the appreciation of his ability and what he will bring to the team while shine through to be fair and he is well worth the £10 - 11 million we spent on him, despite it being inflated.

Hughes got this one right. I am fairly confident in saying that, but his move to Chelsea was just a Bridge too far (did you see what I did there?) and this will benefit his career. How proud would you be if Joe Hart, Bridge and SWP were all included in the England squad? It'd make the national team worth watching all over again in my opinion.

Well done Hughes. So far, so good!

I agree. Good move for both parties. Bit on the expensive side but so what!!!

all of you should be suspended for your horrible jokes

Is bridge injury prone? Someone posted him, parker, Bellamy and RSC are all liable to injury? Is this the case for bridge and other possible signings? I know RSC as been injured alot but not sure about the others?
