We are obsessed with the manager

Been a City fan all my 37 years of life and I've come to the conclusion that we are obsessed with the manager no matter what's happening.

By this I mean we now have a guy who has a proven track record, has made a good start and looks like he wants to stay and build a world-beating team.

So what do we do? ...we never stop harping on about Jose bloody Mourinho.

We're obsessed, and until we stop this we'll never succeed as it will undermine the manager in place and ruin what's been built.

When are we going to learn? 2 seasons minimum for a manager to start reaping the rewards.

Keep Mancini (& Kidd), he's the best we've had.

Let's just get on with supporting him and the team.

I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER MANAGER. NOT EVEN JOSE.

Yep, I totally agree.

Maybe it's the madness of the Swales years when we changed managers all the time, maybe it's the post Swales era when we changed managers every week, whatever it is, I have been saying it for years, decades even, that if there is one club that needs stability, it is City.

It has'nt happened, it probably never will, but I find it a bit depressing that some on here were calling for Mancinis head after he had been here for 6 weeks!

We all want City to do well, of course we do, but I can't get my head around all this Mourinho stuff.

People go on about his wonderful record, but forget his football is boring as hell to watch. Ask the fans that remember the Peter Read years, when we finished 5th in the league in consecutive years, and there is a rolling of the eyeballs, followed by 'the football was crap'.

No, all those that want rid of Mancini, would want rid of Mourinho in a few weeks, and whoever replaced Mourinho, would be similarly expected to pack his bags and leave.

Mancini is learning, we have had some fantastic results with him in charge, and I want him around for a while yet.

Mancini is only just starting, and let's see where he can take us.

The next few years are going to be exciting, both on and off the pitch, but I really do hope Mancini is there, with his scarf, directing things. He has'nt done anything wrong, after all, and I hope it continues for years.

We get 4th, Mancini has to get the full public support of our board. A big war chest to spend and everything.

We don't get fourth and, well, I fear that we will see a repeat decision from the board and a new man will come in. Trouble is, Mancini has definitely not underachieved yet. Ok, we lost a game or two that maybe we shouldn't, but we've won a few that we would have expected draws at best from.

The question has to be, 'Depending on where we finish and thus what will be thrown at us next season, is there anyone better qualified than Mancini to improve us again and get us ready for a title challenge next season?' Rest of this season will reveal more to us on this, but ultimately, as we have seen, what the fans think is secondary to what the board feels will bring success fastest. And a title challenge next season has to be the aim, even if we finish 6th this season.

What we say on here has no impact on our chances of success now, or the future.

If people go on about Jose, so what. If you don't want to contribute to the debate move on to another topic.
