If people want to say we are ruining football they should look beyond the 100m million bid and see what is really happening.
Why we are saving football...
1) Nobody else has the money, more competition.
2) We are the only ones that have the money to bring TOP class stars like Kaka into the Premiership. This lifts the premiership's standards. Whether we do or not is another thing, but at least we have the resources to try and bring them
3) More competition for the same old 4 challenging for silverware all the time.
4) Many people (not bitter) will want to see Kaka LIVE. They will want to see Kaka playing for a currently struggling team on the way up. If Kaka comes, bigger players will keep walking through our door.
5) Yes 500k a week and 100 million is ridiculous but thats what Milan want us to pay like any other club. Besides football is evolving, at the time 36 million deals for crespo and 48 million for Zidane seemed ridiculous. I guess its not quite the same but not THAT bad ....

In my opinion, we are saving football. What do you guys think..?

City paying £100m will still not make Bellamy worth £15 let alone £15m

If we put transfer fees up so much that no one else can afford any players ever then surely that is good for youth development. If teams can't buy players then they'll have to develop their own. We are saving football fools!

I think that giving £100 Million to Milan then that money will get spread out because they need to rejuvenate there squad, and it can only help those clubs that are finding it difficult financially.

Well said! The key thing is that the big 4 have had it too easy for too long. They're pissed that someone is spoiling their party, and everyone else is jealous. Taking a step back for a minute, most fans would know that more competition at the top is a good thing. Personally I think it would be great for a few more teams to join the party too.

No I don't think we are ... even if we did pay him 500,000k a week which is amazingly absurd I'd still say no because they have soo many sports with players earning 75m with 2-3 year contracts etc. In the NFL and Basketball ... So many sports.... As well as Celebrities making millions for a movie? It is absolutely ridiculous because thats more than anyone needs in a lifetime. It shouldn't be that much but it is and from this standpoint City are not ruining football as its practically normal in most sports. They need to tone down wages in every sport ... put it into better things ... spread the wealth ffs .. give back to the fans ... charities .... donations to organizations!
