First of all, before anyone gets rattled by the name of this thread, this is not a go at the boys because they were class today apart from a few who just seemed to be going through the motions.
Thinking about it seriously I cannot see us winning the title in this generation of players. The reason for this is that the "top 4" clubs ALWAYS get the big decisions in their favour. I genuinely feel that refs fear going to these places and almost feel obliged to give the bigger decisions the way of these teams. You just knew today when watching Hughes pointing out to the linesman that the game should be over that United would go up the other end and bag, but it's not the first time and it definately will not be the last.
Also you don't often see a pen given infront of the Stretford End or infront of the Kop. People say that it evens itself out over the course of the season but i don't think it does at all because the decisions that actually matter cost the likes of us, Spurs etc more. (Just as i'm saying this, Carvaliho has just wiped out Robbie Keane, with our supposed best ref Webb saying no pen when it clearly was!!)
Until we get these decisions going in our favour or just refs become stronger and don't just cave into giving these sides the decision then i can't see us winning the title, which is essentially cheating us out of it! May just be me thinking this but what do the rest of you think?
