promised by the 1st sheik we would sign world class players such as kaka,messi,torres, villa, eto, henry, buffon you name we were linked we got Robinho to signal out intent and had to bide our time through some shit results while hughes was hinting at kaka and other big name signings etc

ok now we were told it would take time but they suggested top 4 this season, then challenging the world after that...


so whats happened since...

we have all had to endure the WUM's on here too coming out with various my source says [insert world class player] is in talks, his agent is over today!stop listening to these pr*cks as they are raising our hopes more and its going to be alot bleaker as already shown in Villa turning us down, nothing happening with Kaka nd signing to average top 10 players!!

What a shite thread - and more proof that we have fans who think with our new-found wealth that we can simply go out and play Championship Manager by buying the best players in the world. Anyone who thinks we were going to sign Kaka, Buffon, Messi, and Villa all in one go is a deluded fuckwit of the highest order. It doesn't work like that in the real world. With regards to Robinho, all the cards fell our way - he was desperate to get out of Madrid and they wouldn't sell him to Chelsea so we ended up snapping him up. It may be possible that Valencia's dire financial situation will see Villa heading our way but that's about it in terms of stellar signings for the time being - what we need are players who will move us up the league and towards the top 4. If that happens then we will become a more attractive proposition to the bigger name players but none of that is going to happen overnight. The signings of Bridge and Parker are a positive step in the right direction and I'm sure there will be more players of similar or perhaps better quality signed up in the next few weeks. But if anyone is wanting a team full of galacticos, then they'd better get their head out of their arse now. And besides, where would be the fun in signing 11 galacticos? Anyone with a bottomless pot of cash can come along and do that - it proves fuck-all. It's better to build a great side bit by bit.

As recently as last summer we were struggling to pay the wages, and faced losing Dunne (looked bad at the time) , Ireland , Richards etc because of the shenanigans

10 years ago we were losing to Bury , Stockport , York and Wycombe

Now you are whinging because 3 days into the transfer window we have ONLY signed one of the best 2 English Left Backs and a holding midfielder that 4 Mgrs have spent over 7m on , with the comfort of being the worlds richest club, and ready to sign a few of the games greatest players over the next few years (and possibly next few days)

EVERY fan in the country would die to have our owners, and here you are slagging them off

FFS - go and support someone else like Bolton or Blackburn where your small minded monging belongs
