we now dropped 10 points from 15 but "don't worry it's ok"

Can't really understand the optimism of come people here on bluemoon when they continuously look for positives from the rate of points we're dropping. Last year it was the same when we were trying to get into Europe and were dropping points.

Then it was "don't worry, we still have 7 games to play"..."trust in Hughes"..."we can still make it (with 3 games left)"
Then we finished 10th!

When it was 3 draws in a row this year, the majority again chimed in "don't worry, we'll pick it up again next game - Birmingham"

That didn't happen. Then it was on to Burnley "Easy win" "Hughes will put the ship back on track"

Now its another draw and that's 10 points dropped from a possible 15 in our last 5 games...but let me guess

"Don't worry its still ok, right?". Well when is it not ok anymore?

We've spent £200m! and we're losing points to teams that Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool even, and Utd will all CRUSH. That's the Top 4. The place we want to be, so how is that going to be possible when we keep dropping points?

It'll NEVER be possible to reach the standard of those sides if we keep on dropping points ........ but if we continue to defend to this schoolboy standard we're never gonna be good enough to hang onto points!

Not really making excuses but

Wigan beat Chelsea
Burnley beat United
Villa beat Chelsea
Villa beat Liverpool
Fulham beat Liverpool

I wish we could beat the rags, chelsea and liverpool, mate. Play like we have the past month and a half and we've got no fucking chance.

The difference is that should the rags , Chelsea or Arsenal suffer a defeat they're much more likely than we are to win games EITHER SIDE of their defeat ....... five draws is gonna get you absolutely nowhere when it's three points for a win ...... you merely get 'left behind'!

Hughes will be be sacked for the simple reason that 6th or below is going to be unacceptable.

Anyone who has watched the games this season will have noticed the lack of cohesion, lack of ability to control a game, the total over reliance on individual skill to get us out of the shit. Not to mention appalling defending. Admittedly not something new with City.

Burnley today, B'ham last week and Fulham all played better as a team. We obviously have the class players which always gives us a fighting chance. But in the long run this will not work.

therefore Hughes is doomed

With Liverpool the way they are at the moment you can definitely make a case that top 4 should be the end of season target. It's certainly up for grabs but if we continue with these performances it's a crying shame we missed the chance to push it all the way.

True, but that wasn't the point the OP made. He said the games we have drawn would be games others would crush.

I guess the point is this - are we on Chelsea and Uniteds level yet? The answer is no. That kind of mentality cant be bought. It has to be instilled.
