Some people are amazingly slow at reacting to media reports. This was discussed on the Transfer Forum many many hours ago. FWIW, if the Godfather wanted to sign him, there must have been a very good reason.

The only quotes on this story - that I saw, anyway -came from Veron's camp (his agent quoting him, as a matter of fact). Fanciful nonsense, I'd respectfully suggest - especially with the Vieira deal almost certain. Perhaps Veron is trying to prove what a loyal and not at all money-driven guy he is, in expectation of the Argentina job becoming available?

It was only £3.5M for Veron and the same for his club making £7M in total and at present he is playing well and back in the National side. But as was said he never performed when he first came here. he did not like the work rate that was required.
