This is exactly what the fans and the team needs. With Weiss' youth and energy it would be the perfect time to give him his first start in the Premiership. No doubt the players and fans are still feeling dejected from Wednesday nights result and with Vladi's enthusiasm, skill and ability to run at and take on defenders, it would surely get the fans off their seats and get right behind everyone from the start, as well as what i've mentioned rubbing off on the other players in the squad.

Hughes job is now on the line and its this kind of gamble that he should consider. What has he got to lose? If he does it, i honestly think Vlad could be his saving grace, but unfortunately i dont believe he will due to his lack of stubborness and the tactics he has been employing.

Come on Mark, do the right thing.

i agree

nice to see he has just signed a new contract until 2012, i really hope he starts on saturday in a midfield 4 of petrov wide left, de jong and ireland in he middle and vladi wide right with santa and tevez up front.

forgot de jong is suspended so replace him with kompany.

I'd like to see more of Weiss too. But perhaps from the bench.

he is very good with the ball at his feet. But without the ball can we afford a player like that if we're struggling, remembering that we are very lightweight in midfield and are missing our best 2 defenders?

Ideally bring him on from the bench. He has the capacity to turn our season. To make people talk about what a fantastic talent he has etc. But his game is not complete which is why he's not starting

of course we can afford him, we have no outlet on the right, unless we played robbie left and bellamy right?

And when he has a shit game you can pillory him from all corners like you do with all the other players.

I wouldn't start him either - he simply has not had enough first team game time to risk it (admittedly that is Hughes fault).

Too important a game to take risks with. And Hughes certainly won't want to take any with his job on the line!

I was gonna say it would be risky to start him etc etc.....
but he does play for his country from the start -so F@@k it why not.
There is little to no chance Hughes will though!!
