Did you take from my post that I was disappointed? Anyone would think you read 8 words of my post and literally none of the rest of it. And where did I say that I would refuse him or even mention that he didn't cost much? The bit about saying on the face of it, it may seem underwhelming was really a response to the fact some people were being negative. Incidentally Kante and Mahrez were 24 years old last season not 29. Not that I am disappointed with this signing but just to make a point that they are bad examples of players only starting to do particularly well at the back end of their careers.

I don't know why some people are so hung up on just buying the supposed better player then what would fit Pep's system. I think if you asked Barca fans prior to both Zlatan and David Villa coming to Barca, everyone would have wanted Zlatan. Yet Zlatan clearly didn't fit in the team and when Villa came in after Zlatan had left, he was part of one of the best Barca sides ever. Nolito has what Pep wants his winger/striker to do. Plain and simple.

First impressions for me are good. He seems humble, hard-working and knows where the goal is. Gotta love these prices so far aswell.
 
Great signing in my opinion. Ready to contribute to a high standard already. Clever movement, good feet, unselfish, bargain price.

Don't know why people are fretting over his age. We get 3 years out of a player who is bang in his prime

His age is not a concern. Even if he only gives 2 good years it will be well worth it. Most of all Pep already knows him well.

Decent addition, just hope it's a 3 year + 1 year deal, a 4 year contract for a player who's 30 in a couple of months really doesn't quite make much sense to me - from our perspective, for the player and his agent though that would represent a blinder.
 
Only 14 mil huh? That has to be one of the cheapest "big" signings we've had in a while.

Can't pretend to know anything about him that isn't common knowledge, hopefully he'll work out. Seemed like a down to Earth dude in his welcome interview.

I've read Pep likes him and likes "specialists", but it seems to me that Pep likes the opposite of specialists. Don't "specialists" go against the whole "total football" thing? And if Pep likes specialists, why does he do things like play Lahm/Alaba/Boateng/Martinez as defenders and midfielders?

Can he play on the right as well as the left? Can he play as a striker with Kun in a 442? Or is he strictly a left winger/attacking middy?
