A very reasonably priced alternative to Cucurella. Can't confess to knowing much about him but I trust the judgement of the club and he could turn out to be a cracking signing. We certainly don't waste much time switching our attention to other targets these days.

To my mind, this is an essential signing. Walker and Cancelo cannot play every game, and last season Cancelo was well knackered in the last few games and Walker was injured. Now we have an acceptable minimum squad.

Some of the older fans (from other clubs) will probably not face up to this, players of Sergio Gomez's age grew up watching us be the team lifting trophies in the past decade. Same way how in the past, the players always claim Madrid/Barca/United etc are their 'dream clubs'.

Glad we are keeping him, makes perfect sense too. Gets to directly train under Pep and with the first team, and will defo get game time since we lack a LB.

Eager to see what he brings. Will be refreshing to finally see a natural LB playing there again.
