Welcoming Goalkeepers

I remember a good few years ago I used to see Oldham Athletic when I couldn't see City and they had this funny thing of when the opposition goalkeeper approached the Chaddy End before a game or after half time depending on who won the toss, the OAFC supporters would start a round of generous applause, making said opposition goalkeeper clap the Oldham fans. Then, (and only when he'd been suckered) did the Oldham fans then shout obscenities and flick the V's.

I've not seen any other fans do it though

Be quite funny I think. Albeit extremely juvenile.

Liam Gallagher did exactly this to Pompey fans at the start the season when we were still at Maine rd. Nearly caused a riot iirc.

I did a few times when I used to sit in the North stand (at our new stadium whatever you want to call it)

They used to do this at Carlisle as well.
