Well done boss

If you think city would handle the biggest appointment in world football in the way that was dealt with, your mistaken. No one at the club was aware of what he was abt to do. He should of kept his mouth fuckin zipped.

Just why though? What reason would he ever have for doing it that way? Judging by quotes from Pellegrini, he has a good relationship with those above him, so why the heck would he just drop this on them? It makes no sense.

Believe what you want but that announcement was not club sanctioned and came out of the blue from pellegrini.

Mate, you've been given wrong information on this.

The second Pellegrini walked out of that press conference, the City press officer handed out printed statements confirming that we had appointed Guardiola.

The fact that happened is widely reported in the press. The Sky Sports News journalist who was in the press conference confirmed Pellegrini's statement came out of the blue to the journalists, but the club were expecting it as they had prepared a statement that was handed out immediately afterwards.

The Sky journalist was stood in the CFA stadium where the press conference had just taken place and was holding up the printed statement to camera.

Also the news was released on transfer deadline day - the busiest day of the year for sports news. It was obviously planned weeks in advance to come out on that particular day.

Only what I was told
Like I said it was never club sanctioned that day for pellegrini to announce it.

I think you were told wrong, mate.

How do you explain the fact that the club had printed statements ready to give out at the end of the press conference? Coincidence? Luck?

I'd say our ultra savvy cutting edge media department reacted with the ruthless speed and ingenuity we've all come to associate with them.

Great job setting up the team for Tuesday with confidence while resting the best and finally giving Kelechi signifiant minutes. We all gotta like this 4-0 games while he's in charge. When Pep gets here, it will be boring 70% possession football with 5 shots on goal and 2-0 at the end. Bayern has scored 4+ goals twice in their last 27 matches (with one in ET). City has done in it 3 of the last 11 and that's during a piss stretch. I realize I am the only person on this site who is disappointed getting Pep lol but will support regardless. HALA PELLERS (just for this week)

You're = you are.

It's not fucking difficult.

Wait, what? Are you really suggesting that Manuel made that statement without the club being aware he was going to make it or am I misreading what you're saying?
Tim of The Oak said he's seen a tweet by Manuel saying the club were aware of what he was going to say. I've looked and can find no such statement or any reports anywhere to support this albeit I'm not casting doubt on the validity of what ToTO said.

It's all a bit menial now tbh as he'll be gone soon anyway, but the reason this won't lie is because some posters are claiming that Manuel was being undermined by City from the beginning because he was only a caretaker manager. The valid point others have raised is how can someone who has a three year contract be classed as a caretaker manager and so in turn be undermined which explains our year on year deteriorating form?

If what they are claiming is true, why did Manuel take such a demeaning job in the first place?

Except he didn't, which is why the club had printed statements ready to hand out at the end of the press conference that he made the announcement.
I've been asking for any evidence of this for ages and so far all that has come back is some of his supporters have 'heard' this was the case and have even gone as far as to say there are numerous media reports to this fact but as yet no-one can produce any such report or show any evidence to support this claim.

How about the eijit on sky sports holding up the club statement to the camera on live tv right after the press conference ended? Smokescreen you reckon?

Edit: let's ask one of the attendees, @stuart brennan

Dunno mate, I was working late that day and only heard what had happened when a client came in for a meeting that afternoon and told me what had been said.

When I could grab 5 minutes I had a quick read up about it and everyone was saying it took the world by surprise. By the time I got home and had time to watch SSN and catch the announcement no-one mentioned anything about it being club sanctioned. Having said that, as time elapses, SSN reports get more and more concise so if their reporter was waiving the statement about it was probably cut from the report I saw nearly 12 hours later.

Like I said, I'm not saying it didn't happen, just that I never heard that part of the SSN report and have subsequently seen nothing else mentioning the printed sheet City were supposed to have prepared in the media.

Mate I was watching SSN live that day when the news broke and it was about 10 minutes later the journo had the printed statement in his hand wafting it about on live TV. He said it got given out the moment Pellegrini stopped speaking. I don't have any other evidence than that, but I don't need it.

Even if we won the CL, he'd never get the praise he deserves.
?

If (and its a big if) he wins the champions league he will leave as a legend

At the moment though he has a done a fucking awful job the past two seasons, how he has managed to mismanage this squad of players and to potentially fall out of the top 4 is beyond me.

Why? Because he's a nice guy and was getting paid handsomely to boot.
