Pellers man management just isnt good enough. I dont think Pep will need much time to change things, we have a good team, (give or take a few lazy twats) but we have a decent team and I expect hhim to work with what he has got, add a few more, and win things from the start.
When the team try they are capable of great things. Based upon all of the games I would say we have tried oonly half of the time. It wasnt good enough, and leicester, (and now RM) have gotten away with City not trying.
Something Pep will bring is that work ethic that we so desparately need. Looking at it from the outside, we have a bunch of prima donna's who cant be bothered, it makes us a laughing stock. We all know the real story, thhe bias against us, the players who live and breath the city shirt.... But the press, the media like a soap story, and City have painted themselves into the "rich kids who cannot be bothered corner". Pep will change that into a turn-around story, the press will be back on our side, good things will come.
But the owners must know how much we have gone backwards in the last three years, they must be banking everything on Pep. It haas to work.
I don't think we are fit enough. Last night really brought it home to me even more than v Leicester/Liverpool. Modric & Isco ? Come on.
Whether the players can be fitter under a different manager or whether they are almost all going to be moved on in the next year, I don't know. But I know Modric wouldn't have the run of our midfield when we were good.
If he was a City player for the past 3 years, he'd be blowing out of his arse trying to do what he did last night imo.
What I did not understand about last night is that after 60-70 minutes we were in a fantastic position. We were 1 goal from going through, and although Real Madrid were dominant they weren't brilliant. But we never flipped the switch from defence to attack. Not sure why that was. Leadership and personality is lacking in this team from the manager and players and hence aimless
Honestly we were in a fantastic position only because Madrid couldn't score a vital second goal. We didn't raise our intensity or desire for ONE goal to see us through into the final of one of the biggest tournaments. Everything was so pedestrian, whether it was because we were lacking physically I don't know.
I'm not shocked at seeing some people 'pleased' with taking a 1-0 defeat on aggregate to Real Madrid.

Just seen his press conference and he is saying we were unlucky and didn't deserve to lose, wow, he really is deluded isn't he.

Just as many predicted, if Pellegrini didn't change direction we would be found out and the team would suffer. The team he has left Manchester City in 2016 is a performing to a far worse level than the team he inherited in 2013.:)
Negredo from 2013 would probably put 5 past our current defence!
What makes matters worse is I think today's squad is actually stronger than the one he inherited, so to leave it in a worse state than he found it takes some fucking doing!

They don't all see it. Signs were there 2 seasons ago but the manager just thought he'd carry on. As a result we don't have many alternatives particularly with injury.Sticking with Yaya yesterday was a massive mistake, the guy sleepwalked up till he was changed. If all the fans and pundits see it, how come he doesn't?
There are players in our squad who could possibly do a job, or we could play with two up front, but we haven't even tried or planned for a team without Toure so to do it on the verge of the CL semi-final was not going to happen.
The situation with Toure is so glaring that I am tempted to look for excuses for him. He must see it. Maybe he knew he was on his way and didn't care, or maybe he is just the coach and the responsibility lies with those above him.

That depends on a persons expectations. I'd say they are brilliant but not superhuman. To expect them to just win us the game yesterday without a clear game plan is, in my opinion, asking too much

I really don't want to go but someone is relying on me that day. If they play like demons & win it will piss me off that they don't do it more, & if they do nothing again (which I worry will happen) it will piss me off even more. I don't want to be there to see either.
I have lost a lot of respect for most of our players after the last two games & I really feel quite hostile towards them & particularly the manager.
I will see if I can talk the others into binning it off.

I'm not sure they can. They looked incapable of raising the effort to compete. The intensity of the premier league has a lot to do with that but it doesn't explain the lethargy we've seen all season. Who knows, maybe there's something amiss with the way the players are being prepared for games.I don't think we are fit enough. I would also say that we need to start signing a more athletic type of player. Players like Navas, Clichy and Dinho are able to play 4 or 5 games a fortnight without any discernible dip in performance. If we're genuinely looking to compete on all fronts we need more like that and, as you've said, younger players being given a chance.

Modric is a very good player to be fair mate,he would walk into our side that's for sure
I don't rate Pellegrini any more, but when there's 20 mins left and you are going out of the Champions League you'd think the players would have some collective ability to do something about it. Some managers like Simeone seem to have total control over their team throughout the game, but in most cases when the team crosses the line its up to them. We've been in limbo all season but perhaps the players are not as good as we think. The best players we had in previous seasons: Kompany, Zabaleta, Silva and Toure are fading. I am not convinced by De Bruyne and Aguero. They aren't sparkling in big games. Perhaps that's because the team around them is not playing well enough.

I doubt watch Spanish football enough, but did his Malaga team play with a similar lack of passion & plan? Or is it the combination of Pell and City?
Malaga didn't lack passion but they weren't the brilliant outfit some on here would have us believe. And they had the same offside trap, relying in dodgy linos & iffy defdnders, the same 4222 & Demichelis. And when they were close to getting into a Champs Lg final, he brought on Roque Santa Cruz, who was not 100% fit, to 'press' & hold the ball. He didn't.
