For Arsenal in the League Cup, I flew from Manchester to Southend with the now defunct Flybe for something daft like £60. I had somewhere to stay and did Friday to Monday.

A good drink up afterwards, a bed and then hotel breakfast is often nice too.

I noticed a little dig in the commentary yesterday about no empty seats, well when your teams been about 20 times in the last 12 years there comes a point when the novelty and more importantly the cost becomes a huge issue, once every 40 or 6 years id expect us to be buzzing as well, twats.

Wasn't really watching, but looked to me like there were plenty of empty seats in the sections by the halfway line?

Rubbish venue since they removed the twin towers. No real history in the place. Just another soulless structure in a shitty part of London.
Rubbish food, daft prices and a terrible journey to get there even if you only live 15 miles away.

The novelty of Wembley wore off years ago, when they started having the semi finals there. It was nice beating the rags there, but it soon became 'just another ground' and it was easy to take for granted. The 'magic' had gone.

I for one will never be going there again. It's better on TV with a pint and no travel hassle.

Wembley is just another ground,in a stupid location with shit pubs, that just happens to hold finals and semi finals.

As a ground and location its no better than most PL away grounds and worse than several.

Semi finals should be bid for by clubs with ground capacity of 50k+,including Murrayfield and Cardiff Arms, and would include Sunderland/ Newcastle for example.

90% of capacity should be divided twixt the two competing clubs.

It would be good to get away from Wembley/ London and allow some other cities and regions to benefit from any economic input.

Personally, I’d prefer to go to Sunderland, Murrayfield or SJP with 25000 City fans than Wembley with 35000 !!

It’ll never happen unfortunately due to the Wembley debts and the London centric FA.

cup finals are a wonderful experience, my first one in 1981, what a day.

the bad bit is wembley, it kills atmosphere, not a patch on the old wembley.

the travel is a terrible experience ( built in wrong place ), getting home being far worse than arriving there. Food and drink around the stadium shite, food in the stadium is ok for a footy game but far to expensive. Ticket prices ridiculous

I get bored to hell with the bravado pre match, just get on the pitch ffs and let the game start.

My first visit was 1974, never missed a final, semi-final since, or CS. I don't get this mamby pamby, not going because of this that and the other, fuck me we used to dream of going to Wembley, what the fuck are up with people, City at Wembley I will always be there, I was pissed off yesterday and certainly can't wait to get back. Shit nearly 50 years since that first trip, FOC.
