Shamed as I am by all those who say we are not true supporters if we don't go to the Community Shield and seeing as I'm not a true enough supporter to have been able to get tickets for our two previous wembley appearances (over 20 years a season ticket holder on and off until last season) I have decided to boost the numbers by three, being me and my two boys. I don't want thanks for this, just some advice...

I plan to drive to Watford (ideally I would have bought tickets months ago when cheap train fares were available and stay over while cheap travelodges were avilable) and get the train/tube in and spend some time in the City if it's possible. How's the parking likely to be in Watford or any other tube stations on that line?

What is the policy at Wembley on taking your own food in? Can I take a picnic table? Only kidding about that, obviously but will I be able to take my butties, crisps and capri suns in or shall I pay a fiver for a drink inside?

Watford Junction station has a huge car park so that shouldn't be a problem for you, and it's only about 20 mins from Wembley Central on the train.

I don't think they'll allow bottles of water, coke etc in, not sure about food.
