Were we lucky not to have any of our games postponed?

Looking at how many games got postponed over the holidays due to Covid and other issues, I feel we benefited from not having any of our games postponed and scored full marks in all our games. This will pile pressure on the other teams as they have to squeeze more games into their calendar.

Now we can rest our players for a while as the next PL game for us is in 2 weeks. Next week is the FA Cup and we can play with the 2nd string players

Our Game against Arsenal showed how low fueled we were as many players were at their last ounce of energy!

I think this will help us continue racking up the points as when we restart the PL our players will be ready and rested and even Foden and Zinch will be back!

Credit to City for having strict protocols that seem to have worked in terms of keeping positive tests at relatively low levels.
And definitely an element of good fortune in that we’ve avoided fixtures against teams that have been badly affected and have had to request postponements. The Leeds and Newcastle games both came at the right time for us.

Well kind of. But yesterday's game became a bit of a mismatch because of the cancellation of Arsenal's game. There's no way they would have been all over us like a rash if they'd played the same number of games. If we'd lost, you could easily argue that we were unlucky to have to play when others didn't. It'll even out over the season anyway.

We’ve done incredibly well to get 100% of wins over the Christmas period and it now gives us a huge advantage, when other teams have to play their postponed fixtures in a pact calendar and have to also be perfect.

Hopefully a combination of that and AFCON finishes Liverpool off.

Not lucky not to be affected ourselves as Im sure we have good protocols that the players largely followed

Lucky that none of our opponents were affected at the times we had to play them as thats out of our control

But only in hindsight after winning those games. If we’d lost vs any of them and then theyd had their next game called off then we’d arguably have been unlucky

We still had to play every 3 days against teams not always playing every 3 days

So in several ways we’ve been unlucky. We’ve not been lucky

Yes, we got the points on board, Chelsea & Liverpool are now at panic stations trying to keep up with us.

There’s no such thing as luck, but it’s good that we didn’t. Games and points under our belt is definitely preferable to games in hand and a fixture pile-up down the line.
