West Brom (A) | Post-Match Thread

Yes fair enough. But when Sam was manager of Blackburn rovers I went to a few games with a pal who had a season ticket and saw his tactics live. A regular tactic was for any free kick within their own half the keeper would hoof into the penalty box. Any throw in in the final third and long throw into box. WBA did this last night on the three occasions they got possession of the ball / set piece.

Its non league tactics played at prem league skill level.
Yeah there should always be some adaptation but I tend to respect some teams more for realising what they’re good at and utilising it as opposed to trying to play something they can’t.

so in conclusion we robbed villa with correct goal decisions, and now it's city's fault that miss Massey was told to put her flag up. Im just amazed the third goal stood or wasn't called contentious with Mahrez stood in offside position
shit ive started something now
are city the only team never to get good press for going top

I don‘t like to be bigheaded but I’m claiming the credit here. Following last Saturday’s shit show, my customer review of the BT Sport TV app not only reverberated around the board room but rocked the organisation to the very core.

That was exactly where I lost patience and emailed them. Told them that if they are going down the "Fanzone" route, fair enough but they should be honest about it, dump the likes of Mcmanaman and Ferdinand, recruit a couple of united and liverpool fans off the streets and pass on the savings to those of us who find the commentary unlistenable.

the performance of the team will be lost in the result in its only WBA ??

but if your a proper football fan and love the game then watch this game over and over again its got everything
players take all the credit but pep must get a big shout out and he has single handed change football in the premier league and in the uk and it must never go unnoticed

from sweeper keeper ? no striker's ? wingbacks playing in midfield ? centre backs wanting the play around in the box
its incredible and a joy to watch and any young up and coming manager must watch and learn from the master

any other team or manager loses 3 or 4 key players then his job is going to be hard and lose to teams like WBA away
he would be saying well this player missing or that player missing i had to patch up a team its just lady luck
not pep he improves the team and gets results because of the system in place and the hard work on the training field

if that was liverpool and klopp or OGS at united then the media closes the book and just stand and clap and award after award would be handed out and books and books videos films programs written about a genius that changed football in the uk

the media will never let you to forget the busby babes ? bill shankly ? brain clough ? fergie ?
pep guardiola should be talked about forever in the same breath and top of the list of GENIUS
great post mate. We get recognition but its sporadic, savage was drooling over that last night but next game it will be forgotten. I thought when Pep arrived that he would build a squad that was a 'complex machine' that would operate whichever individual players he selected. He has gone beyond that. Its not a machine its a work of art, a thing of beauty, especially that first half. The movement around their penalty area was simply phenomenal. There were runners everywhere, all making space and confusing the poor baggies. I know it was only WBA but that was some of the best team football I have ever witnessed. My no 1 wish is we bottle that, take it to Klanfield and be 3 or 4 up at half time. Play like that and they will not touch us.

Just seen Allardyce finally came out of his cave last night to face the press, complaining about the offside goal.
He says when players see the flag up they stop playing & if you think they should always play to to whistle is a nonsense.
Why is this dinosaur still in football, it baffles me.
It was a case of saying either

City played us off the park and I should never have taken this job as I'm finished

Or

That goal was offside

They probably forwarded it to Peter Walton, who will now be on his tenth draft reply.

”Dear Mr Noggs

Love

Peter”
