West Brom Post Match Thread

Is it possible to remove Bono and Demi from the champions league squad next round if we get though
I think the rules allow it but MP promised them that they'd be chosen ahead of more worthy players so no, they have to remain in the squad. And, to be honest, I'd rather see them play than see City win the CL because promises are important.

The game summed up the fact we have a huge game on Tuesday with a CL semi final at stake and that we still put out a side today that on paper should take care of West Brom with ease.

The fact we struggled is down to those fringe players just not being up to the job and knowing that their futures lie elsewhere right now but that said, we still got the win and its all that matters.

Bony being picked aside and he didn't let their first goal in, i dont know what else the gaffer could have done today.
Pick ilheanacho instead of bony
Substitute aguero on 70 minutes
Stiffen the defense when ahead, especially ask the full backs to stay back more

Basic stuff that anybody watching could point out, really.

That makes zero sense.
Yes it does.
There are 15 clubs that are currently below city in the table (*) hence that proves he us one of the best managers in the league

* ignoring the fact that the exception of Chelsea and manure, the remaining 13 clubs have squads that each cost a small fraction of city

Job well done and 3 points earnt.

I felt sorry for the loud cheers when Bony was subbed but he's not performing at all, he seemingly chooses to go missing. You could see the fluidity of our attacks hampered by him stood just outside the pen area and barely move, then every now and then attempt to "burst" passed Evans (I think it was) but either was ignored or got no where near the ball.

He was often beaten in the air and in tussles lost out which for a man of his build is even more annoying.

It's a shame it's worked out this way for him but it's clear that he's not suited to our style of play and it was a mistake for him to start.

It beggars belief what Kelechi has to do (and how badly Bony has to play) before he'll be given a start infront of him.

Still... we did what we had to do and it's on to PSG!

Bony? No better than Tony Cunningham, who if your of a certain age, will know that he was not only as slow as a cart horse but had little skill and the turning circle of a super tanker.

What a bad buy he's turned out to be, dreadfull.

I hope our owner knows who is responsible for sanctioning that transfer and deals with it accordingly.

Was happy with Zab's performance. Thought Navas worked tirelessly. Liked Aguero's involvement and movement. Enjoyed Fernando in the middle. Thought Yaya and DeBryune changed the game. The others were average to okay.

Totally agree with the exception of Bony I don't think he brought anything to the party at all.

However we are at the business end of the season and another 6 league wins will guarentee us finishing 3rd.

Today was just about the result and fortunately we managed to get over the line and secure 3 points.

Looking back this season so far what else we could expect. It was always going to be huff and puff stuff spoiling energy in a physical battle during terrible weather. PSG was able to put out a complete B-team resting every single player that played last Wednesday and will play this Tuesday. Yes we won. It wasn't pretty. On to Tuesday where we will concede at least one goal.
