west ham tickets and future aways

it's a well known fact that west ham away is going to be an expensively priced game, but also a very crucial game.

now city haven't released details of prices or number of tickets allocated , but there is a danger we will take a reduced allocation which i think would be a mistake regardless of price.

just an idea, for games like this one wouldnt it be an idea if city invited applications from all supporters in advance of the game going on sale, it would enable the club to decide what sized allocation to take.

literally anyone and everyone could initially apply, and still have the loyalty points criteria in place, so if demand outweighed supply loyalty is still rewarded, but the maximum amount of city fans get the chance to attend.

i think this system would encourage more people to apply for tickets, and increase our dwindling away support, because it would give more people belief they could go to aways.

Would be a great idea to consider but i could see it being a pain in the asre to implement as there are people saying they would go then don`t. Me personally am going as if all goes to plan this will be one of the more memorable away days.

I think it's a good idea, and I also agree it would be a mistake if we take any kind of reduced allocation for what could be our biggest game for years.

One thing I have heard is that there is no reduction at all for kids tickets at West Ham, which I find unbelievable. I usually take a kid with me but I refuse to pay around £50 for a child's ticket.

Was a memorable day, though when they first started marching across the pitch toward our end it didn't look like they had friendly intentions. Not sure why it turned into a mutual appreciation event.


No doubt if West Ham are in danger of relegation there'll be threads on here re 'don't drink anywhere in London that entire weekend' or you'll be smashed to fuck by angry West Ham !!

it certainly has mileage, would give more people hope of applying for games and getting tickets, and would enable city the chance to have a full compliment of fans everywhere.

the system would pay for itself by the fact city charge 2 quid per ticket anyhow.

the club can confirm your application has been successful earlier and enable fans to get the cheapest travel.

obviously if somewhere like chelsea offers 3000 tickets, and we only have say 1600 applications the club would still be justified in taking the reduced allocation, but the flip side would make the game available to all from an earlier stage and would i think provoke more interest.

Not really, unless I'm misreading it, what you are suggesting is that City invite early applications, before they know the ticket prices (set by the home club at their leisure), take your payment details, then put it in their request for tickets based on applications from people who don't know what the price would be.

Say City got 3000 applications for Spurs next year, so put in for the full allocation, but then 4 weeks before the game Spurs (being the cheeky c***s they are, and knowing City's policy), sent City 2800 tickets priced at £100 each, no concessions (yes I know its not realistic, just an example), your system would mean 2800 people would have to pay the price as charged, or City would have to pay for the tickets.

The system is dictated by the home clubs selling arrangements, and pricing, not by City.

As it is we hardly ever sell out away these days, and City know that there is a price that some people just won't pay, so they take an allocation based on the facts as presented at the time the home club tell City, and to my knowledge we've rarely got it far wrong.

You are worrying about City not taking the full allocation for a game that will in all likelyhood be very important for both clubs. I don't doubt City will take, and sell, the full allocation, so why change a system that seems to work fine as it is to me.
