looking at stopping around epping for the night then onto braintree saturday for the chester game, why not, 2 games in 24 hrs has to be done !

Train from st Albans to st pancreas 18min then from there to Stratford about 8m. Quick back onto m1 after for run home.

Bloody hell. It will take me 50-55 mins from Barnet to Stratford.

The pub at St Pancras itself is worth a pint (the Sir John Benjamin) and the Skinners Arms is on Judd Street just over the road and that is an ok traditional boozer that does good pub food

Skinners is ok, yes. On the main road there's an O''Neills and the Euston Flyer (biggish pub) a couple of doors along. All are under 5 minutes from the underground station.

Stratford is a bit of a wasteland near the ground. There's the Cow but it might be home only. Someone said there was a big place somewhere else nearby.
