dont know if there has been a thread about this but i think this is a very bad move for them to go in to a stadium which will seat 80,000 and they will be forced to keep the runing track around the field just about ok for when they play arsenal and chelsea but what about the wigans and early rounds of the cups, bad bad idea i think if i was a west ham fan i would not be happy,plus the stadium looks shit

Last thing i read about this was that the goverment had said NO to their application
 
WH are in discussions with the Olympic council to take over after 2012 but must keep the venue as a athletics track as well. As the OP said bad move

Was if they took running track out, because east london needs a twice used a year 80,000 atletics stadium (downgraded to 30 odd k i think unless west hm manage to get it), rather than generating mass income all year round with a football stadium.
