We've all been merked

its all bollocks for no arm band no heads and tails terry will still lead england

I thought about this today before it was announced, and I came to the conclusion that Rio or Frank Lampard were the most likely to get it.
People were saying Rooney but as good as a player he is he just isn't a spokesman, Thick as pig shit springs to mind.
Frank Lampard would of been my choice but I think with his close conection with JT and more to come in the Sundays it wasn't an option.
Steven Gerrard no chance after his recent GBH court case.
Gaz Baz I just dont think he has the aura about him to be Englan Captian and he plays for an unfashionable club in City.
No goal keeper has the posision nailed down yet.
So when you go through the "first names on the team sheet" boys yo have Rooney, Terry, Rio, Cole, Lampard, and Gerrard thats it the other players are still replaceable, so all in all Rio is the right choice IMO

OK, taking the blue specs off, its a decision that makes sense. Ferdinand is England vice captain, captain of his club team, and has alot of experience under his belt. It makes more sense to give it to him, rather than Lampard or Rooney, who are hardly ever captain at club level. I think if Gerrard had never beaten up that bloke in the nightclub, he would have got it, as he would have been a better choice than Ferdinand.

Great role model.
c'mon kids, Elbow the first person who touches you, assault women, take drugs and don't take your exams.
and most importantly

this had nothing to do with england, it was all to do with getting the rags into pole position, being captain of england will give united even more power over referees, duck face is a cheat, it really has been a dodgy deal, something england are going to come unstuck with very shortly?

I think you are reading too much into it.

Capello alone was given the decision. The FA backed off because they didn't have a clue what to do.

I doubt Capello has any scum "agenda" as a high priority.

Mackenzie whilst I agree with you I just wonder what will happen to camel gobs appeal now. The F.A. banned him for 3 games and added another game on for 'a frivolous appeal'. He has now appealed that so should either get it extended too 5 matches or get off scot free. Which do you think is now going to happen ? (bearing in mind they will want him match fit.)

So whilst I don't think it is some form of rag conspiracy there is now way it will be a fair and honest hearing, i.e. banning him for 5 matches. it just wont happen.

It will be interesting to see, I'll give you that.

The whole Shearer thing years ago springs to mind.
