We've got enough....

no set amount but in a competitive market like the one we are in its better to just be efficient and spend the money needed for players especially when we can afford it rather than miss out on targets to change an image that will never change.
It's sod all to do with image more us trying to run like a sensible business, big shiny toys are not what we do anymore,we set a value and thats it,we are self sufficient now,we don't run to HRH because he can afford it

I dont really get the whole trying to change our image so we dont overpay thing . no matter how hard we try we will always be looked at as a money club by other clubs. instead of trying to prove them wrong we should just embrace it like psg did. signing neymar and mbappe for a combined 370m is a money club who dont give a fuck what others think, they have money and are going to spend it to land these players.

Not sure how all the FFP works on a year to year basis but maybe the big spend last summer has had an impact in us wanting to balance the books?

Just as a general point, we won't have Pep forever. I find it odd we missed out on one deal by a seemingly small margin, had our bluff called about plan b's and c's, but ultimately won't give the best coach in the world the very best chance to win the lot? I know we don't do short term anymore but surely in this case you'd make an exception?
Nope. The system is the system. Everyone including the great Pep should work within it

We have enough to win the league again. Probably not enough to win the CL.
We may or may not win the league. Some luck of injury, luck of ref call, and changing form all play a role eventually. But we have the talent to win. Unfortunately others (Mostly Liverpool and maybe Chelsea if Sarri can get that system going and avoid losing Hazard) also have enough talent to similarly win if they get the bounce of luck, draw and form.

But either way we definitely can win both the leagy and/or the CL with the talent at our disposal. But do can others. So nothing is a given. But like many ofhoth we have a good chance.

We were generally fortunate with injuries last season, (Mendy was the most significant but he had a previous history of injuries).

I believe should be planning for worse injuries this season. In certain positions we have thin cover, (eg we could quite easily have both Jesus and Aguero out together).

We are leaving a lot to chance.

then its just shit luck, we can't keep stockpiling players to the squad just because injuries may happen. There are only 17 foreign spots anyway.

Injuries will be inevitable, (and probably higher this season due to the greater playing time our squad has experienced at the WC).

Of course the squad has size limits. But we have had to compromise the quality of some positions with missed targets. If we have the best quality players with a balanced flexible squad, we should be able to ride injury loss while still challenging in all competitions.

We've only missed 1 target and he was seen initially as back up for Fernandinho. So apart from that which would mean Zinchenko leaving, who would you get rid of to bring someone else in.

If Fernandinho gets injured for a while we will have a problem. No matter whatever many on here say.
