I loved Cong when me & the Mrs toured Ireland in 92 . I remember walking in the grounds of Ashford Castle in the evening , beautiful placeAshford Castle.
Treated myself and the missus with a voucher for this luxury hotel and spa at Christmas.
She had a tough year with her dad dying and she’s looking after her mum now, as she lives on her own.
First chance we get I’ll take her down there for a no expense spared weekend.

Was there once when we were younger.my lad was conceived there!
She actually won it for a window dressing display.
It was absolutely wonderful but we were so naive and ill prepared for the formal 5 star, 5 course dinner.
I hadn’t even got a jacket and tie.
They were superb. Very discreet. They offered me a jacket and tie, but we declined and ate down in the village, Cong, that evening and said we’d have dinner the hotel the following night.
Next day I drove into Galway and went shopping for a new jacket etc.
Dinner that evening was a whole different level of dining than we were used to.
Happy happy memories.
Can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been to lots of different countries but we talk more about that holiday than any of the others . We had 2 weeks touring In Ireland staying in farmhouses. Lovely peopleBeautiful part of the country.

If you’re able to visit then see Pissouri bay, Polis/latchi.Paphos. A week all inclusive just relaxing by the pool. I’ve only been to Cyprus once which was almost 20 years ago to Ayia Napa. This holiday will be a LOT different ha
