What are Aston Villa talking about?

Why is Martin O'Neill "dissing" the only competition they have any prospect of winning. If City played a weakened side and boasted about it before hand, I would be less than happy. I wonder what Villa's travelling fans make of this.

He only said it this week after they struggled last week at home

Think he's saying it to cover himself a bit. That guy cant handle loosing. Was funny when they lost in the cup at Everton. His face afterwards!

Actually, you absolutely have a point, Chris.

MON, like a lot of Villans, think that the Chimps League next season is a real possibility, and inclusion in EUFA cup this season has turned out to be an inconvenience. Hope they miss out on both. But the point of selling tickets for a match in which you know you will have a weakened side, is yet another indication as to how poorly clubs treat the travelling fans. They ought to pay for the travelling expenses if they field a side, injuries apart, that they wouldn't field in a Premier match.

Surely having a manager who hates losing and can transmit this to the players is a good thing? I know I got very annoyed with Sven because he never really looked very bothered after we had lost. Perhaps the players picked up on this in the second half of last season?

Its contempt for their own is what it is.

Hope they get done over in the first quaily round.

Already getting the BIG attitude.

Playing a weaken side in the Milk cup etc is not too bad if you are in Europe but ito do it in the last 32 of UEFA is a disgrace to all the fans who have travelled and paid to watch all the european games they've played in.

I sometimes think they're punching a bit above their weight this season. As are Everton. And maybe ourselves and Spurs are doing the exact opposite.
