What are England playing at?

First Richards and Bent, now Baines. What the fuck are they doing? Do they not know how to handle players?

baines has been worthy of an Engalnd start for a long time, he is one of the best full backs in the prem IMO. I can't see why he won't play Richards at RB as he is a great full back too, but fo some reason he played Smalling instead, he isn't even a RB!

Baines is brilliant, but he isn't better than Cole.

Cole is cracking on a bit now but still the best left back in world football for me

2 players out with hamstrings tends to suggest they are not preparing players correctly, If we charge them the wages whist players are not availiable, ie Micah 6 weeks at 90k a week then things may improve, sort it out Bernstein.

The good thing is that Smalling looked vulnerable on at least 3 occasions, so hopefully that gives Micah the edge in even Capello's eyes. He even literally turned his back on Petrov at one point and allowed him to get in a great cross. Micah's not perfect, but he's much better than what I saw from Smalling in the last game.

I confess I was kinda hoping for a Bulgaria goal via the left wing to highlight Smalling's shortcomings - don't get me wrong, he'll be a great defender and only grow with experience, but Micah not only deserved the staring place in front of him, he's still the much better prospect at right back.

Same old story though - if United bought Dean Windass and played his as sub for the last 2 mins of a Premier League game, you just know he'd be in the England squad for the next game.

As long as Joe comes back ok - we can find of cover for Barry and AJ for a while at least, but Joe getting injured would be a problem for Mancini.

I agree. I dont have any feeling of connection with this England team, I've always made the effort to watch every game in the past but right now I just couldn't care less, Capello is a joke and reinstating Terry as captain was unacceptable.
