What book are you reading now / or recommend?

Late reply. Good read. If you haven’t read them and are interested, Richard J. Evans’ Third Reich Trilogy is an incredible piece of scholarship. Not light reading but fascinating.
 
The Taking of K-129. How the CIA 'stole' a Russian sub from 3 miles down in the Pacific Ocean. Started a bit slow but really interesting how they overcame the challenges when all the calculations etc were done by slide rule on bit of paper.
 
My new year resolution was to read more. I read James O’Brien “how to be right in a world gone mad”.

If you listen to his radio show then it’s a pretty easy read as it’s basically the show and his opinions on paper so not a lot of thinking required, which is ideal on New Years Day

If you don’t listen to the show, I’d still recommend it.

I went to Waterstones the other day looking for Secret Barrister but sold out. Anyone read it, is it any good?
 
Whilst not out yet the book I am looking forward most is the third in Don Winslow’s Mexican drug series, The Power of the Dog and The Cartel were utterly brilliant, brutal in parts but brilliant, also The Winter of Frankie Machine by the same author is another great read

there is a series on Netflix called Hitlers Circle of Evil which would seem to back that theory
 
“Selling Hitler” - the true story of the Hitler diaries scandal. Really good read and hard to believe that intelligent people were taken in by such a crude forgery
