What car do you drive?

Family/wife's car is a Qashqai or whatever its called. Learned this summer to always buy a car that has a specialist garage near you, nearest Nissan garage to us was in Shewsbury so had to do a 200 mile round trip and a day off work just to replace some microchip or other.
I drive a basic 3 grand Ford Ka which is fine for a runaround.

I hope the ones they have over there have better longevity and service history than the ones we have over here.

I’d let you buy me a 4 door Wrangler of some type, but I wouldn’t use my own money to but a Jeep vehicle. I’d venture you paid a pretty penny, as they’re not cheap, either!

I hope you have a long and loving relationship together.

As they say…

It’s a Jeep thing.
You wouldn’t understand.
They do seem pretty robust versus a lot of UK vehicles, not 100% but i think its only one of two jeeps now built in the USA,Ohio. The rest i assume in Italy, The 2.2 Diesel is responsive and returns around 38mpg thats a Fiat built engine, dont think thats on offer in the US as they seem to be around 3ltr size engines, so 6 months down the road with it and i'd still give it a 8 from 10,only thing that pisses me off is the auto stop start, its default selection is on so you have to hit the switch to turn it off,may seem trivial but it is anoying

I love Alfas but after a hefty repair bill on one a few years back which ended with the car driving like a tractor I swapped to a 2006 Civic 2.2 cdti, I liked them when they first came out as they were very futuristic looking and it ended up being the best car I've owned - very very reliable, hardly any bills outside of routine servicing and was like shit off a shovel. I changed it for a Nissan Juke in 2017, another good car but I do really like the new Civics though they tend to be smaller engines now, many are only1.0 so would have to test drive one before buying it as I do like a bit of poke
You definitely have different spec over there. A 1.0l car would get laughed at by most over here, just as I laugh at guys who buy 5.0l V8s over here!

Turbos seem to be becoming the new norm. You can get 1 litre 3 cylinder engines with 125hp which is more than enough for most people in a small car.

The power comes in a lot earlier (lower revs) with a turbo car so most of the time they feel quicker than a normally aspirated car with the same power in general use.

Porsche made a 700hp 2 litre, 4 cylinder engine for one of their 'race' cars!

I know, that's why I need to drive one, if its as slow and naff as the engine size suggests then I'm out. They do go bigger but not the 2.2 of the old models

Very cool cross sectional of cars, what was it you loved about the Volvo?
They no longer do the V70, but it looks very similar to the V60
The Volvo XC60 polestar is a hell of a machine and XC60 feels like a tank
Big seats, really comfortable, the D5 engine gave it some power which for a car which weighed about 3 tons was brilliant. A lovely motorway cruiser
I loved the fact it had big sturdy buttons, which Volvo changed to fiddly things in the next models
It wasn't cheap to service
