What City's Success Means To Me

As a younger fan at the age of 18 i have not seen city us lift a major trophy, i was aged 8 when i fell in love with city. the year of the second division play off final. i was a fan obviously before then, i cant remember as i was only young but i had every kit and apparently kinky was my hero as iv been told. but the play off is the first memory i have of a city game. sat in my front room with my family who are all true blues from when my granddad was on the board in the 70s, and then going mental when dickov scored! the next day i walked round the corner where dickov lived in bowdon at the time and got him to sign my shirt. since then i have had season tickets and also had the opportunity to go into the directors box on my granddads table.

As the years moved on i fell more and more in love with city and found myself getting obsessed checking the site everyday more than once, reading forums and buying city stuff. then came the big take over and as we all were, i got exited last seasons signings like robinho, and getting sweep back, all the money and press we were getting had me think this is going to be amazing. we finished in a good place but we had been expected to do better from all the media we had over the season. but we were all exited for what was to come in the next few seasons...

Now this summer we got more media this time all over the world, and again there were amazing signings and we all got exited again. as the season started and started well it has, iv started to think i don't expect typical city, in fact i have not come across that term this season so far. i feel exited for every game more than i ever have done before and hope to god we keep up the good form and win nearly every week. then i started to think well if we do that we will be hitting finals and fighting for the title in the next few years if not this year. and when i say to myself city are likely to win the league in, id say the next three years i get tingles in my belly and get a massive smile on my face... and i think what will i do when we win the league and i am going to be honest i will cry with happiness. it will for a fact be the best day of my life and i will have my home shirt on for weeks without taking it off.

Just think lads, it's going to happen soon. Don't be negative, those times are behind us now.
this is the new manchester city things are changing, changing in an amazing way.

sorry i waffled on...

Good post as far as it goes but you never really say what City's
success would mean to you.

Its great to be passionate about something , whether it be a person , a football club whatever as long as it doesn't become an obsession.

City do appear to be on the improve and if the current owners are in it for the long haul a winning culture can be developed.

We were in the upper reaches in the late sixties and early seventies so we can achieve success again.

Its good for the premiership if in any given year at least 8 teams can win the premiership and we hope that City are one of those clubs on a regular basis in years to come,

There is a long way to go and I hope and trust the owners know that and I believe they do.

There will be a lot of opposition and impediments placed on the club from both within and without both fair and foul to ensure we don't reach our objectives and you would expect that.

Sustained development of junior talent and quality purchases in most transfer windows will be required to maintain a steady climb to the top of the tree.

Those Blues who fell in love and started to suppot city when we were at our lowest while the rags were winning major honours, i don my hat to every one of you. It would have been easier to become a glory hunter, but You were strong and resisited the forbidden fruit of satan.
