what did people REALLY think of the atmosphere

When you lose half your sinGing end, it will affect the atmosphere. It's like United giving us most of the Stretford end and putting those fans all over the stadium.

I was in 110 for the first time. Brilliant. Flash back to thre 80's. Only problem was, I couldn't hear the rest of the stadium, that included most of United's support.

My take. Start of the match us. Before United's goal pretty equal. After United scored, them. After we scored, us. Second half. Start, pretty equal. After we scored, definitely us. Last 15 both sets of fans didn't sing that much as we were both on tender hooks for different reasons. Overall, we edged it slightly.

i was in the gods (as i was for hamburg) over on the east stand, and for the first 30 minutes or so i thought the atmosphere was pretty bad. No where near as intense as hamburg, and i dont know why.

It started off ok, got worse, even worse after their goal, and then just before the equaliser it picked up.

For the first 30 mins there were only a handful in my vicinity singing.

But it did get better and for the rest of the match it seemed very very good. we certainly made some noise.

The guy to my left was a very nice bloke an all, very similar views on the match to me, and was a pleasure to sit next to.

Just to add. HAMBURG WAS BETTER. Wait until the league game when our South Stand singing section will be back.

I was in 110 near the front..usually in 117.
I thought apart from that corner our fans were bobbins.
There were a group of lads who tried to sing Blue Moon at least 15 times. FFS, Its great, at the start of the game, in the middle and at the end...but every fooking 5 minutes!!??

I thought their lot were good and noisy, plenty of banter and sang a shit load more different tunes than we did. I cringed at our attempts at times to be honest.

I thought the Glazer photo's and the debt total was great, as were the inflatable cocks.

Considering it was a derby semi...I thought City were poor off the pitch.

We were also poor and fortunate on it and will have to play much better than that next week or we'll get stuffed...I hope we do...I hate the f00kin six fingered lot of em.

I don't like criticising fellow blues but when the "Stand Up If You Love City" went round the ground in the 2nd half I could not believe some near me just sat stayed sat down.

I know over the years fewer people stand and sing but FFS it's a semi-final against the rags and people can't be arsed to stand up for even 10 - 20 seconds. To anyone who is disabled or struggles to stand or whatever then sorry but to everyone else who didn't bother then I hope you are not at the swamp next week.

nowhere near as passionate as hamburg. not the same buzz. it was good at times. when we scored we did go mental. united fans are quite good away from home imho. i find it funny tho how they sing take the piss songs all the way until we equalised.

Pretty shit, but it isnt helped when the away fans stand in silence for 90mins

Fucking hell mate, I'm gonna be honest here but I have to admit their fans showed us up last night, no matter how much I hate them, I have to admit this.

We needed gimmicks for our semi final, they made their own atmosphere and were miles better than us.

Sorry but the free flags etc aren't for me.

I'm with you on this. It's said time and time again. Until we get a whole end devoted to our own hardcore oldboys and 'new youth' it will always be very very poor for getting any songs going & volume etc. Watched a re-run tonight on i-player and there was persistent noise but if we are ever going to improve there's only one solution...

OPERATION ONE END

Another 'means to an end' presentation

Ye, spot on, i have my season ticket at the back of 110 and always walk away from the thinking how brilliant the atmosphear was and then talk to a mate who sits in the 3rd tier collin bell stand and hes saying it was pretty poor. o well i expirience atmosphear on a par with hamburg so if the rest of the ground wasnt singing its their loss to a certian extent.
