what did people REALLY think of the atmosphere

This has to happen and soon.

I don't know of another Premiership club that would give up its "end" to the away fans for a cup-tie. It's ridiculous.

Move them onto Level 3 of the East Stand and give City the full South Stand to generate a consistent atmospjere.

If all those hangers-on at the club, earning big money on various marketing and "fans experience" intitiatives want to earn their money... then get this put right.

To be fair they've looked to put this right, it's City fans ourselves who had the vote at about 50/50 on here as to whether to move the away fans. That hardly justifies people at the club moving them does it?

Don't think they can stick the away fans in the third tier because of the spirals

The club have been "aware" of this issue since they opened the stadium up!

I told Alistair Mackintosh at the first fans committee meeting there that this was a problem... and he shrugged his puny shoulders!

And when did Manchester City become a democracy? When were stadium issues determined by what the fans wanted? They never asked me!

And the spirals thing is an irrelevance. If the away fans were on level 3, the spirals at J Stand would act as the turnstiles for them, with the doors locked on level 2... easy! A passageway could be configured to lead them back to the coach park.

All is possible if they really wanted to be arsed about doing it.

We are the richest club in the world... we could build them a fucking walkway in the sky if needed!

Hi I´m Karl, I am new to this forum, I have already posted this on another thread.... so please forgive me!
I am glad that we are now in a position to shove that annoying banner down the sanctamonious throats of the Red half of Salford! I will be so happy in knowing that it was by beating them that forced them to remove that banner.

I have an idea though, and its a serious one!
But how about we erect our own banner at Eastlands now detailing the increasing debt that our illustrious neighbours are increasing on a daily basis??
I mean we have had to endure that banner at the swamp now for the last.... HOW LONG??????
There was all the Hoo Haaaa when the poster was put up, and we all know how the fact it was us and not them that was bought out and not them gets right up their noses!
So we can´t reply with the boasts of a full trophy cabinet so lets take it back to them another way eh???

I am sure there is someone out there that has the knowhow to make such a banner! Lets get one done and display it prominantly for all the world to see!

Come on! Lets do it and make them bitter!

The solution to the spirals problem seems logical to me although I don't know if there are other factors involved or whether this method would cause big pile ups at the turnstiles (or other problems). I also don't know whether a passageway would be feasible and I'm not gonna guess at it

By the way are you referring to moving the away fans permanently or just for cup games?

I'd move them permanently. We need an "end" that can generate atmosphere on a regular basis.

However, the only problem would be the season ticket holders on Level 3 not wanting to move.

A couple of my mates are in there, and they're right grumpy fuckers!

We'd probably have to buy them out by offering them something in return... move to the Colin Bell Stand... or a big goodbye party in the conference rooms, all paid for by the club!

If the club want it to happen, I'm sure they could. I'm just not that convinced they do.

I thought it was pretty shit against United - they outsung us. Whats happened to " hello, hello, we are the city boys...." and " Nah nah nah na-na-na-na City?"

Would there not be some sort of health and safety issue if they locked a level 2 exit to allow away fans to get up to level 3? Not sure that authorities would be pleased about a stadium exit being out of use. There may be a way around it, but i'm not sure.

It missed the south stand, say what you want it about but it always rises to the big occasions and gets the rest of the ground going

i was doing my nut last night - someone said is the atmosphere gonna be as good as hamburg... i said no because the south stand had to move

whats the story with £40 tickets ?

if utd wanted to charge 40 and city 20 maybe we should have stood our ground - gone public with it and forced the issue on lower prices so that regular fans could go

as i see it, the ticket sales were slow, some normal season ticket holders probably felt it was a dear do at christmas time and blue mates or family members used their tickets - this must of happened because for me, at the top of 122 no-one sang anything

i ended up moving to 121 half way through the 2nd half and it took off a bit then but we were 2-1 up then , at 0-1 i was going out of my brain...

on the concourse it was a brilliant atmosphere but then inside no chants no songs, even 111 was a bit quiet, compared to the arsenal q/f

we need our own end for these cup games, its ridiculous

does anyone feel the same ? or like on the official website did they think it was a "brilliant atmosphere"

Agree, pissed me off. 109 was wank and i had to sit down with some stuck up old men telling me to sit down. Plenty of sound lads dotted about it just takes a few to get the rest going. Second half was pretty good, but it was like that at some normal home matches this season. Was great in the concourse, then everyone must disperse.

I couldnt really hear 111/110 that much neither considering there all together and stood up AND next to the scum.

They lock gates routinely.

Usually to stop the smokers!
