what did people REALLY think of the atmosphere

Would anyone really want to be sitting below the away fans?

It doesn't seem to bother Wolves.

Or Newcastle.

Or the rags for cup games.

Or Liverpool.

All have home or away fans above the other.

The away fans should go down 1 of the touchlines abit like what Chelsea used to have. Behind the dugouts or afacing them. Its easy to be able to sort out aswel as all they have to do is bring the caged doors around to them sections then its fine. Make the away fans coaches park to the the left of the main entrance.. When is there any mega voilence at the matches bar united? Never will be a problem.

I am carrying out a study focussing on changes within football stadiums and the atmosphere and trying to establish whether these changes have had a positive or negative effect on the supporters match day experience.
If you regularly attend football matches at English premiership stadiums I would really appreciate it if you would take part in a brief survey on this subject by clicking on the link.

Many thanks,

Before the move to CoMS there will have been extensive discussion with the police and safety officials about where to site the away fans. Unless something has changed their view that the South stand is the best place for them from logistical and safety viewpoints then you may as well forget about them moving.

i said they should put away fans in the 3rd tier, it was quite in city end when they scored but when we started playin better we didn't stop singin

Considering it was our first semi final in 20 odd years it was terrible.Hopefully it will be a lot better next week even if we do concede an early goal.Going slightly off topic here maybe but does anyone else think that even our away support is pretty shit in terms of noise these days?By that I mean we tend to only ever sing about four songs then when we've done them in if we have not scored it goes quiet.Even at Wolves when everyone had been on the piss all day and we were in complete control it hardly took off.

Apart from the atmosphere, having two ends full of city fans would also help. I would stick the away fans either in the in the bottom tier of the Colin Bell stand next to the South Stand or in the lower and middle kippax stand. 110>109>108

Pretty shit, but it isnt helped when the away fans stand in silence for 90mins

Fucking hell mate, I'm gonna be honest here but I have to admit their fans showed us up last night, no matter how much I hate them, I have to admit this.

We needed gimmicks for our semi final, they made their own atmosphere and were miles better than us.

Sorry but the free flags etc aren't for me.

most away fans are louder than the home fans most travelling fans sing. there all grouped together they dont sit there with their travel rug over their knees drinking coffee out of a thermos. lets face it were not the loudest. maybe loyal and in good numbers.

When was the last time City had its OWN END?

Why give the away fans the best seats in the ground (East Level 3)?

If they are to be moved then East level one with the current away coach park and the current East car park swapping places and a Maine Road style fence (like seen outside the North stand for the last few years there) for the away fans to walk to their coaches, we may need to close one spiral forthis but should be no big deal, and would mean that those in the second and third tier could walk along the concourse to their preferred end after the game depending on wether they wanted to go to the Joe Mercer end of the ground or towards Mary D's The Manchester etc (the fence could also be used to create a smoking area for the nicotine heads for half time)

Had to move from 117 into 110.

Thought we were quite loud during the game and couldn't hear the rags at all.

Watched it again on the box when I got home and it sounded like 40k rags/6k City in the ground. I'm sure we wern't that bad. BBC doing a job on us with the mikes?

I'll be glad to get back into 117 just not the same standing on the side.
