what did u get from maine road ?

I got a few bits. somebody near me had got a file into the ground, so we were able to take the numbers off the seats - have got a picture somewhere of all the seats around us missing their numbers.

got the sign showing block V from the South stand, and a price-list from one of the bars (God knows why I wanted that !)

Me and my dad went down to the ground as it was being demolished, we went down just as they were finishing for the day, so we went up to the guys at the front coming out and asked him if we could get any remains, he was nice about it and he let us in quickly and we managed to get 6 seats, all still in tact and together in one piece, a week later i had them screwed onto the wall in my garden, it looked like the luther blissett stand off soccer am!!! haha

Then i took them down as we moved house and now there just leaning against the wall in the back garden.

A dose off some scruffy bird on the Kippax 1980

My sister was never scruffy..

No,but your bird was!

Still is mate, yours still an outpatient at Clinic 6? ;)

Yeah - she's hoping to be out by Crimbo.
I'd still have the tests though mate if I were you... :)

I went to the charity auction on what had to be the hottest day of the year. Got absolutely bladdered in the Beehive first and ended up paying 60 quid for a 10 foot sign that says "It is an offence to drink alcohol beyond this point".

Seemed like a good idea at the time but was a woman to get home on the bus and my Missus wouldn't let me bring it into the house... to be fair to her though, it was covered in stale beer, dried blood and if I'm not mistaken a bit of congealed puke.

60 quids worth of history just sitting in my garage!

Any offers??

The only thing worth having from Maine Road was the legendary "Commit No Nuisance" sign on the Kippax wall.

It's the most cost effective crowd control measure ever used and is the main reason City had no major hooligan problems in the 1970s.

I was there once when City fans were steaming United in thebottom corner of the Kippax. Someone pointed out that sign and it just stopped. People were shaking hands and everything.
