what did u get from maine road ?

maine road wasnt a better ground than coms, maine road was like an old lady who slaps on makeup and then goes looking for a shag,it was worn out of date and wanted demolishing, one thing that cant be replaced was the area moss side had character and lots of it,if eastlands was on maine roads site it would be just perfect!

I guess it depends what your looking for in a football ground!

I agree that we had to move on, but I'd much prefer to watch my football at Maine Road to be honest! It had a certain character that COMS just completely lacks for me!

I really miss the old place & even miss the utter stench of piss that used to permeate around the whole of the family stand in the 80's (old Platt Lane stand)! The bogs there stank that much that you could even smell them from your seat, but its one of my first memories of watching City, so it stays with me in an oddly fond way!

I want character out of my football grounds, so I'm sorry Marco, I have to disagree! Maine Road WAS and always will be a better FOOTBALL STADIUM than COMS!

Completely agree vonks big nose.

The best grounds are the old ones with big pillars at the front of the stand. Maine Road had so much character even if none of the stands matched and it looked a bit of a mess.

Best grounds in the Prem for character, Villa, Goodison, Fulham. Any others?

I got a few bits. somebody near me had got a file into the ground, so we were able to take the numbers off the seats - have got a picture somewhere of all the seats around us missing their numbers.

got the sign showing block V from the South stand, and a price-list from one of the bars (God knows why I wanted that !)

That would be a rare item from Maine Road

And?

Got our seats from the Kippax, they're set up at my parents house. Loved it in the summer when I lived with them, used to get up, get a brew, sit on my old seat in the garden and have a cig. Ah the days.
