What do you call the end slice of a loaf of bread?

Only ever heard it called a crust, personally.

I think it makes sense. IF the loaf is surrounded by A crust. Then it's logical that the end pieces, which are all crust on one side, become THE crust pieces.

Never have I heard: "I could just go for a nice warm knobby, with butter on right now". That doesn't sound right at all.

I call a barmuffin a bread roll but the ends of the loaf are crusts. I’ve never heard them called anything else.
