i miss platform tickets and train windows that opened.

you could give someone a big hug'n'that as they boarded,
kiss them through the open window as they departed,
then wave goodbye running along the platform like a silly fool.

Local shops. I grew up where there was 3 butchers, 2 green grocers and 2 convenience stores. Local stuff. My job of a Saturday was to go and pick the meat up, for which my Ma gave me 50p. Back then that got a decent haul of sweets.

Glad I was that age in that era.
