i miss platform tickets and train windows that opened.

Never came across them. Strange.
One thing I did love about those sweets pretending to be fruity in some way — the unabashed chemical taste of them. Not being funny, either. Kids love crap.

I was allowed a quarter of something every Saturday from our indoor market. Mint humbugs were my favourite.

Mum used to wait until 4pm for the bakery to reduce their prices so we could have cream cakes too. Absolute legend.
