What do you miss?

i miss platform tickets and train windows that opened.

you could give someone a big hug'n'that as they boarded,
kiss them through the open window as they departed,
then wave goodbye running along the platform like a silly fool.
I thought the police had warned you about doing that to strangers…

drives me to despair hearing it.
if i worked behind a bar i'd say...
"no you can't fucking get it!
i'll get it!
that's why i'm here!
and stick your stupid americanisms up your stupid arse you stupid ****"
P45 for @calum down!

Service jobs like that aren’t particularly well paid so I’ll often be very polite and tip unless the barmaid / barman is crap.

Going into sweet shops and buying a quarter of whatever.

And (more up to date), Dandelion and Burdock. Can't get it over here.
I was allowed a quarter of something every Saturday from our indoor market. Mint humbugs were my favourite.

Mum used to wait until 4pm for the bakery to reduce their prices so we could have cream cakes too. Absolute legend.
