I have recently had a bet with a mate of mine at work.

It's not so much a bet as I can only see me losing out and only realised this as our palms met during the dreaded shake on it. (Case of blue heart ruling head).

The bet is that I have to pay him a pound for every point the rags finish ahead of City.

Now at first I was pumped up about this bet as we had spent the previous ten minutes arguing about the rivalry between my great club and them and that "world domination" is just round the corner for us.

Anyway, the bet is now in place and call me optimistic but I don't believe i'll be paying a whole lot of money out, certainly not as much as past seasons!

It will be great to see his face when I hand over to him pittance as the first comment will be "we're getting closer"

Honestly though, how much do you think i'll lose and please be kind, we are in a recession.

In principal i agree, but its much easier said than done, and in the heat of an argument its easy to put money on backing our beloved city. I actually thought we were gonna win the league when robbie scored against chelsea. lol

so u give him a pound for every point they beat us by...i have to ask what do you get if we finish above them..i hope you will be richly rewarded or the bet is crazy..id want a bag of sand minimum as the bet favours them this year but next season after i fancy us for the title
