The bloke was the definition of World Class. Had it all. My favourite non City player of all time and the only shirt I own that isn't a City one. He would walk into our team.

Gascoigne for me was always more myth than substance, a highlights reel player who rarely dominated games or strong opposition on a consistent basis. Undoubtedly gifted to a very high degree but lacked the mentality and intelligence to put it to its most effective use.
