What happens with the UEFA Youth League ?

The one that runs parallel to the Champions League ? Do we only get in it, if we get through tomorrow night ?

Genuine question, as I've no idea.
That's the gist of it
Chelsea Youth have been moaning liked slapped arses all summer on their Twitter feed as they are not allowed to defend 'their' title

We had already qualified by winning the u18 premier league.

Really? I thought it depended on the finishing position of the 1st team?

The 32 teams who get to the senior CL group stage play an u-19 group stage. The 8 group winners qualify for the last 16. The 2nd placed teams in the groups go into the play-offs.

Then the 32 u-18 league champions play 2 KO rounds to end up with 8 teams, and those 8 play the 8 2nd placed teams in the group in the play-offs.

You end up with a last 16 and it progresses normally from there.

It sounds complicated written down but you can see how it works fairly easily from here -

Damn, I forgot they changed the layout last season (?). Cheers.

Does this mean we get a second bite of the cherry if we don't finish 1st or 2nd in the group stage. We automatically qualify to play in the group stages by virtue of the senior team qualifying. But if we fail to progress out of the group because we are last year U18 league champions do we get a second chance by playing in the 2 KO rounds to get in the last 16?
