What has the UK become?

Ive been living in London for 3 years because of work and its such a fucking shithole I can't even describe. Ive been left wing all my life but can see how living here can change a person, it truly is the arsehole of England.

You’re not wrong there.

If we had people leaving our country for France, would you be advocating stopping them?
So how many are leaving in overcrowded rubber dinghies from our shores, that’s right nobody.

We are paying millions to the French to stop this illegal form of entry, and typical of that nation they stand around twiddling their fingers.

Their efforts are about as effective as their much vaunted Maginot line was at stopping the German invasion.

They’re taking the easy money, just like Rwanda.

They offered for us to set up a processing centre on their soil and we refused.

We could stop the boats tomorrow if we wanted to, but we don’t seem to really want to, just think up dead cat schemes.

If the situation was reversed, you’d not be campaigning for them to be stopped, so the French won’t either, however much we pay them.

Why don't you get yourself a vessel and do it yourself. You brave English warrior.

Think you’re underestimating how much the French are trying to do and how much they’re limited in what they can too.

The better answer would be for us to open processing centres in France.

Once again for those at the back .....There are NO Safe routes to apply for asylum in the UK if you're not invited. You actually have to be in the UK before you can apply.

They're coming in boats because the French did what we asked and beefed up security in the ports and the Chunnel.

As meltonblue said the better answer would be to set up processing centres in France.

Can not see how processing centres would help, if they were denied entry they would be off to find the nearest rubber dinghy.

Is it wrong for people to be sick and tired of illegal immigration?

Somebody has to pay to house and feed them.

If they resorted to crossing by Dinghy rather than applying through a processing centre then we would be in our rights to turn them back (this is the assumption that the Australians use) .

They are not ''illegal'' until they have had their application heard and denied. Over 80% are found to be genuine asylum seekers (Under the criteria listed in the UN Refugee Convention of 1951) ... this increases to close to 85% on appeal.

So the actual numbers which are illegal is very small and they should be deported as soon as a decision is reached. However because the Tories slashed the number of case workers there is now a huge backlog and it is taking up to 2 years for an initial decision , this is why they are having to be housed in hotel accommodation at the tax payers expense. There is also a shortage of Return officers.

The UK has the second highest backlog of asylum applications (behind Germany) in Europe despite the UK receiving one of the lowest number of applications in Europe (19th out of 27)

An asylum applicant receives a daily allowance of £1.27 a day . From this they are expected to buy clothes and toiletries, its hardly a fortune compared to the £87.1 billion committed by the Tories to defence by 2030

The small boat crossings are not really the major problem that is being reported on MSM and in the press
