What has to happen for us to be awarded a penalty?

But it does affect future decisions in the same game. For example, if a referee gives a dodgy penalty, there's a massively increased chance that they'll give the other team a penalty in the next 15 minutes. Teams that make a fuss get decisions going their way. Why do you think certain successful managers always have their players surrounding the ref?

This is what i mean. Dean gives Utd a very soft penalty because if he doesn't he knows he will be surrounded by rag players, have the media spotlight on him so takes the easy option and gives it. Same with that penalty v Sheff Utd. With us, we rarely moan about injustice, we rarely surround the ref, the decisions are ignored largely by the press so the ref takes the easy way out and does not award us anything. You only have to look at the stats for the last few seasons where we have the least amount of free kicks awarded, every game we have the majority of possession but seem to commit twice the fouls, often guaranteed to get the 1st yellow of the game and these non decisions now cannot simply be errors as its happening way too often for that. I liked the fact we had the holistic approach and did not behave like certain other teams but its done us no favours at all and is actually hindering us and its about time, even if behind closed doors, the club asked the FA for some explanations of the decisions.
